Career Preparation (Work Experience, Career Prep and Secondary School Apprenticeships)

Ever heard someone say, "I can't get a job without experience and can't get experience without a job!"  This program is the answer to this problem.  Join Career Prep or SSA (Secondary School Apprenticeship) and get a teacher to help you find the perfect work experience placement for you.  Your career starts here!

Work Experience

All you have to do is be interested in some career and this program will find a volunteer placement for you.  90 hours of volunteer time gives you great experience, at least one reference letter and a real life look at the jobs you think you might like.

Career Prep

Each two year Career Preparation Programme allows students to gain a comprehensive understanding and awareness of the working world, in addition to completing regular graduation requirements.  Upon completion of one of these programmes, students qualify for a Career Preparation Certificate, as well as the Secondary School Graduation Diploma.  Successful completion of a Career Preparation Programme may also qualify students for advance placement at colleges and other provincial institutes.
